Xterra TRX4500 Treadmill Review
Last Updated: August 14, 2021
If you’re looking for a solid home treadmill with decent motor power, the Xterra TRX4500 is worth considering. It’s built for optimal functionality with a straightforward set of features that allow you to walk, jog, and run. While it lacks the fancier console and connectivity options that modern treadmills have to offer, we like the easy operation and affordability, especially when on discount.
Here’s everything you should know about the Xterra TRX4500:
- 7.5” Backlit LCD
The Xterra TRX4500 has a blue backlit 7.5” console display that shows your workout stats like time, distance, speed, incline, pulse, and calories.
- 3.25 HP Motor
The Xterra TRX4500 is a notch stronger than the former models in its series. Compared to the 2.25 HP and 3.0 HP motors of the TRX2500 and TRX 3500, respectively, this treadmill is better suited to speeding up. It’s also solid enough to handle heavy users, having a weight capacity of 150 kg.
- 15% Max Incline and 19.3 kmh Top Speed
You won’t be disappointed with the speed and incline options on the TRX4500 – a 19.3 km/h top speed is often more than most home treadmill users require. With a max incline of 15%, you can reap the muscle-toning benefits of uphill walking while burning multiplied calories, thanks to the extra effort.
- Roomy Tread Belt with Cushioning
We hate treadmills that make our legs and elbows feel cramped! The 51 x 152.5 cm running belt of this treadmill allows enough space, even for the tallest of our team, so users over 6 ft tall also don’t have to worry. XtraSoft cushioning provides an element of shock absorption to your run, protecting your joints from damaging forces.
- Xterra App Compatibility + 30 Preset Programs
Like top-of-the-line treadmills, the Xterra TRX4500 does offer connectivity to a fitness app. Unlike other treadmill brands, however, the Xterra app, which it connects with, has pretty bad reviews on Playstore, so you shouldn’t expect much. Thirty preset programs also offer training variety, with pre-adjusted speed and incline tailored for various fitness goals.
- Foldability via Lift Assist
Like any good home treadmill, you can give a gentle push to the TRX4500’s running deck and fold it vertically against the console after use. This frees up quite a bit of floor space, and the Lift Assist feature makes the whole process ever so convenient. The Safe Drop feature further ensures gentle unfolding of the deck before use.
- Heart Rate Monitoring
You get two options for heart rate monitoring on this one – pulse sensing handgrips and Bluetooth chest strap compatibility.
- Other Features
The TRX4500 does feature a workout fan, but we didn’t feel any difference. It also has an audio jack and low-quality speakers. Accessory holders are helpful to keep your keys, phone, and water bottle, and Dyaco has a reputation for providing great customer service.

- 10-year motor warranty
- 2-year parts and labour warranty
The Xterra TRX4500 treadmill can work great for people who value functionality over entertainment. While the display, speakers, and workout options are unremarkable, it does offer enough motor power, speed, and incline to make it a value buy for running at home. The solid frame makes it durable enough to give you years of good use.
