ProForm Pro 5000 Treadmill

ProForm SMART Pro 5000 Review

Last Updated: March 28, 2021

The ProForm Pro 5000 is one of two Pro series treadmills that is available in the UK, as of 2021. This series of folding treadmills features state-of-the-art technology, heavy-duty construction, and plenty of options for comfortable and immersive workouts.

Here’s a breakdown of features on the Pro 5000:

  • 10-inch HD Touchscreen

The 10-inch full-colour iFit-ready pivoting HD touchscreen is an improvement from the smaller 7-inch screen on the former model, the Pro 2000. It allows you to enjoy iFit right on the console and keep an eye on your workout stats too. If you still wish to use your own device while working out, the console has an integrated tablet holder as well.

  • 3.75 CHP Motor

Impressive is the 3.75 CHP motor, powerful enough even for commercial use. While even the 3.5 CHP motor on the Pro 2000 is pretty great, you could opt for this one if you think you’ll need the extra power. It enables hardcore training sessions with higher speeds and incline levels for longer durations, without the fear of compromising motor life. We loved how smooth and quiet it felt, even while running.

  • iFit-Enabled with Free 1-year Membership

Both the Pro series treadmills available in the UK right now offer free iFit membership for a year with purchase. iFit Coach is a fitness app with plenty of cool features to keep you engaged.

Besides the 16,000+ video workout library, there’s a live personal training option, fitness challenges, virtual running locations, stat tracking, and more.

  • 22 km/h Max Speed and -3–15% Decline/Incline

The speed and incline specifications for the Pro 5000 are the same as for the Pro 2000, although this one is more suited to hardcore workouts due to the slightly higher motor power. Even the most professional runners can work with the top speed 22 km/h, making the Pro 5000 a great choice for beginners and pros alike. You can further multiply calorie burn and give your legs a strength workout by using the incline option, which goes up to 15%.

  • Spacious Running Deck with Cushioning

Even runners over six feet tall don’t have to worry about stepping too close to the console – the spacious 55 x 152 cm tread belt makes sure of it, along with providing plenty of elbow space. These dimensions are again identical to the Pro 2000. ProShox cushioning is another convenience, allowing cushioned workouts that are gentler on the joints.

  • Heart Rate Monitoring

As you would expect from a good-quality modern-day treadmill, the Pro 5000 does offer heart rate monitoring. It has sensors built into the handlebars to detect your pulse and display the reading over the console within seconds.

  • Convenient Folding Feature

The ProForm Pro series machines have the same folding technology present in many NordicTrack home treadmills. Freeing up considerable floor space, the EasyLift™ Assist feature needs a gentle push to the running deck to fold up when you’re done for the day.

  • Other Features

Your entertainment is taken care of with the Pro series treadmills. Dual 3-inch speakers, iPod connectivity, and an adjustable tablet holder are integrated into the design. There are dual workout fans and water bottle holder for convenience and comfort. Moreover, optimal durability is ensured by the 2.5-inch precision-balanced rollers under the running deck so that you can enjoy years of training. The extended warranty package on this one is also something to admire.

Bottom Line

The Pro 5000 is an advanced treadmill that allows enjoyable, high-intensity workouts for beginners and advanced users. It does have extra features to make it reasonable for the price, such as the 3.75 CHP motor and the oversized running deck. However, for people who need a treadmill for light to moderate workouts, there are other budget-friendly options to explore with limited features.
