NordicTrack UK S 45i Review
NordicTrack’s S 45i treadmill is the third and latest model among the three budget-friendly, compact options available in the S-series. If you’re willing to spend a tad extra for some valuable upgrades, this could be the home treadmill for you.
Here’s everything the S 45i has to offer:
- 10-inch HD Touchscreen
Forget the outdated LCDs – the S 45i has a 10-inch full-colour HD console display for you to enjoy all iFit features right on the treadmill. This means there’s no absolute need for pairing the treadmill with another device.
- 3.0 CHP Motor
The S 45i has a quiet, self-cooling motor like its siblings. It also has the highest horsepower of the S-series treadmills. While it’s not as powerful as the Commercial series treadmills from NordicTrack, it should be sufficient if you need to shape up at home.
- iFit Compatibility with Free 1-year Membership
The former treadmill models in the series had iFit Bluetooth with a free 1-year single-access membership. In contrast, the S 45i has an iFit-compatible display and comes with a free 1-year family membership, allowing up to four user profiles.
For those of our readers who aren’t familiar with the app, iFit Coach has plenty of workout options to offer. It has a library of over 16,000 videos, fitness challenges, virtual running locations, stat tracking, and live personal training. You can choose any place on the map for a realistic running experience or train under world-class professionals who control your treadmill’s speed and incline in real-time.
- 22 km/h Speed Limit and 12% Maximum Incline
The speed and incline options on this treadmill are identical to the S 25i. 22 km/h is more than enough for most professional athletes. In addition to going fast, you have the option to choose from any of the 12 incline levels to increase your workout difficulty further and speed up the calorie burn.
- 51 x 140 cm Running Surface with FlexSelect™ Cushioning
All S-series treadmills have the same running belt – large enough for tall runners without occupying a lot of space. They also have FlexSelect™ cushioning. This means you have the option to switch from a hard, road-like running surface to one that’s more cushioned and lighter on the joints.
- Compact Storage Option
All the S-series treadmills are foldable, a useful feature for home use. The EasyLift™ Assist technology enables you to fold up the running deck with an easy push, freeing up floor space after you’re done working out.
- EKG Handgrips for Heart Rate Monitoring
The S 45i has the same EKG handgrips with pulse sensors to monitor your heart rate as its siblings. It can also be hooked up with a Bluetooth chest belt. This can help you stay in the right heart rate zone for your fitness goals.
- Other Features
This treadmill further offers a workout fan, 2” Bluetooth speakers, and 1.9” rollers, all like the S 25i. The warranty package is also the same as most NordicTrack treadmills in 2021.
- 10-inch full-colour HD Touchscreen
- 3.0 CHP quiet, self-cooling motor
- Free 1-year iFit family access
- Spacious running belt with optional cushioning
- Convenient foldable design
- 22 km/h top speed
- 12% maximum incline
- Integrated workout fan
- EKG handgrips for heart rate monitoring
- Dual 2” speakers
- Good warranty package
- iFit will require a paid subscription after a year
- Heavy use of the machine may compromise motor life
The S 45i comes with:
- Lifetime frame warranty
- 10-year motor warranty
- 2-year parts and labour warranty
While it certainly is the most advanced treadmill of the S-series, the S 45i comes with a somewhat heavier price tag. If you can afford it, it’s a decent choice with good motor power, an HD touchscreen, and speed and incline variety.
