NordicTrack S 25i Review
Last Updated: August 18, 2021
NordicTrack’s S-series treadmills are compact, foldable pieces of equipment meant for home use. They’re suited to minimalists who want moderate-intensity workouts without going overboard on budget. The NordicTrack S 25i treadmill is the second of the three models available in the series, sandwiched between the simpler S 20i and the upgraded S 45i.
Here’s everything this middle child of the S-series has to offer:
- 7-inch LCD Console Display
Like the S 20i, this treadmill has a similar but somewhat larger Bluetooth Smart enabled LCD for your workout stats. While it lacks the full-colour touchscreen of the newer S 45i, it does have a tablet holder to compensate by allowing you to place your own device.
- 2.75 CHP Self-cooling Motor
An improvement from the 2.5 CHP motor of the former S 20i, this model features a 2.75 CHP Smart-Response drive system. The self-cooling motor is pretty quiet, but the motor power is the bare minimum expected from a treadmill of a reputable brand. While it can handle frequent use at home, be mindful if you are a bit on the larger side. If that’s the case, we recommend getting a treadmill with better motor power for more durability.
- iFit Bluetooth Compatibility with Free 1-Year Membership
The S 25i can work in sync with iFit operated on your device. Prop up your tablet on the console and enjoy free iFit access for a year. In case you aren’t familiar with the app, it has a lot to offer. From stat tracking and thousands of workout videos to live personal training, fresh challenges, and virtual running locations that work with Google Maps for a realistic experience, iFit Coach offers almost limitless options to keep you moving.
- Wide Speed and Incline Range
Compared to the S 20i, this model goes a notch higher and faster. The 10% max incline is now replaced by 12%, and instead of an 18 km/h max speed, you can reach speeds up to 22 km/h. These speed and incline specifications are also identical to those of the newer S 45i.
- 51 x 140 cm Tread Belt with Cushioning
The tread belt’s length should be enough for most individuals, with good elbow and leg space. We love how the configurable cushioning feature enables us to switch from the hard running deck to a gentler, more shock-absorbing surface that lessens impact on the joints.
- Convenient Foldable Design
Like its siblings, the S 25i makes use of EasyLift™ Assist technology that helps you conveniently fold up its running deck after use. This can save some much-needed floor space at home.
- EKG Handgrips
All S-series treadmills come with heart-rate sensors incorporated into their handgrips. You can see the reading on the console and make sure to stay in the right heart rate zone for your fitness goals.
- Other Features
The former model didn’t have a workout fan, but this one does. It also has 1.9” rollers, dual speakers, extended warranty, and a 135 kg weight limit similar to all three S-series treadmills available.

Unless you’re a bit on the heavy side or overly active, the NordicTrack S 25i treadmill can function quite well and last long as a budget home treadmill. It has everything you need for a good workout session, and some more. However, you may want to buy something sturdier if you need a running machine for extended high-speed running at steep incline levels.
